Administrative
Assistant
Catherine Lingle

Cati is our most recent staff member. She has a Bachelor of
Arts in Family Services from Olivet Nazarene University. Cati feels like she has an
advantage in her new position because her father is a retired pastor and as a
child she often “played” church secretary while waiting for him after church or
during meetings. Cati and her husband, Mike, a pharmaceutical sales rep, have
been married 17 years and have two children; Jake 11 and Maylee 8. Jake attends
Avon Intermediate School East and Maylee attends Cedar Elementary School. They
moved to Avon from Kankakee, IL in 1997; however, she grew up in Greenwood. She
and her family attend Westside Church of the Nazarene where she sings in the
church choir and on the Praise Team. She enjoys reading, being with her family,
and watching her kids play sports.
Director of Music
Beth Gregory

We have had the pleasure of Beth's musical talents since 1989.
Beth received a B.M. degree in vocal performance from Butler University and currently
assists in the music department at Avon Middle School. Beth strives to
provide music of highest quality and meaning through adult chancel choir, women's
chorus, children's choir and other special music.
She
is a licensed Disciples of Christ Minister in the area of music and
believes her true calling is God's work and blessings
through music in praise and worship. Beth is married to Chris a pharmacist (also an accomplished
singer). They have one daughter Corinne.

Dianne never misses a beat and we are fortunate to
have such a dedicated and talented musician.
Financial Assistant
Linda Aders

When Linda joined our staff many years ago her first big task was to get a manual accounting system transferred to a computerized system.
This included setting up a new chart of accounts, creating reports, payroll and working
to interface with the other facets of our financial systems. Today, Linda
and the systems and processes she helped create are invaluable in the financial
areas of our church. She
generally works on Tuesday, through Thursday, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Linda and her husband Terry have two children, Jordan and Nicole.
Linda also keeps the books for her father who works for the Indiana State
Employees Association, which is a not-for-profit group that lobbies for state
employees. Linda’s free time has been devoted to activities with her children. She likes to
roller blade and in the summer they like to water ski at Raccoon Lake.
Pastoral
Intern
Michael Gilbert

Michael is a Christian Theological Seminary student who will be
working during the 2009-10 school year at Avon Christian Church as part of his
field preparation for Christian ministry. In addition to attending CTS, Michael
is an independent manufacturer’s representative and runs his own company.
Michael is married to LaDonna, who works in Franklin in sales and marketing, and
has a daughter, Sarah, who works in the area, and a stepdaughter, Vanessa, who
is currently a student at IUPUI. Michael calls himself a “new” Christian, having
not grown up in a Christian, church-going family. He’s been a member of Speedway
Christian Church for 15 years and just finished six months as an interim
associate pastor there. His call to ministry began while serving as an
elder and visiting shut-ins. He’s also enjoyed working as a Sunday school
teacher. He’s over halfway through his coursework for a dual Master’s in
Divinity and Psychotherapy and Faith. He was drawn to ACC because of some
similarities with Speedway Christian Church, and a desire to work under the
guidance of Pastor Carolyn. His favorite times of worship are during prayer and
communion. One of his favorite Bible verses is Matthew 28:16-20, the Great
Commission. Jesus gave the 11 disciples authority to go out into the world and
make disciples of all nations. This gives him the courage to ask others not only
to discover their spiritual gifts but to also give them permission to use them.
“Someone told me they thought I’d be a great Sunday School teacher and then they
asked me if I would be willing to do it. I never would have considered it on my
own, but someone had the courage to ask me. That’s what we need to do. Have the
courage to ask and then empower the person to act.” Michael’s hobbies include
running and other forms of exercise, reading and music, including playing drums.
