Children & Youth Ministries
At Avon Christian Church, we offer activities and programs for newborns through graduation with opportunities for individual children and youth as well as options for families as a whole. We have highlighted some of our many programming below.

Junior Youth Fellowship (JYF)
JYF is Avon Christian Church’s group for third through sixth grade students that helps foster strong relationships for the youth and forms a group where they can enjoy friendships in a safe, Christian, friendly group. Our activities range from fun and fellowship, lessons and learning, and service to the community in a wide variety of ways. JYF typically meets after service twice a month.

Christian Youth Fellowship (CYF)
CYF is Avon Christian Church’s group for high school-aged students that meets for lunch, fellowship, and faith formation. CYF is currently using Animate Faith to guide youth in digging deeper into their own beliefs and how God may be calling them to welcome, love, and serve our neighbors. CYF typically meets twice a month.
Special Events & Programming
Vacation Bible School (VBS)
Avon Christian Church hosts a Vacation Bible School series each June. Vacation Bible School is geared for children ages three years old through completion of the sixth grade. Vacation Bible School is an opportunity for children and youth to fellowship over dinner, learn through interactive Bible stories, and participate in engaging activities (e.g., crafts, games).
Other Events & Programming
In addition to these, Avon Christian Church offers various programming throughout the year. These activities and programs span from fellowship (social) events to learning opportunities, such as open gymnasium time, movie nights, and game nights.
Easter Eggstravaganza
Each year, Avon Christian Church hosts an Easter Eggstravaganza to kick-off the Lenten season. The Easter Eggstravaganza is an event designed for families to fellowship over breakfast for dinner and to work through stations as a family. Our stations typically include an Easter Story Walk, crafts, snack making (e.g., making trail mix), upon others with the event ending in an Easter egg hunt.
Children’s Christmas Program
Each year, the children and youth at Avon Christian Church work with our Christian Education Director to select, practice, and plan for a Christmas program. The children’s Christmas program is presented to the Avon Christian Church congregation during a service in December.
