Senior Pastor

Rev. Danielle Cox serves as the Senior Minister of Avon Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). She is passionate about empowering her congregation to put their faith into action in the community and beyond, following Christ’s command to love and serve their neighbors. She and her husband, Samuel Bateman, moved to Avon from Houston, Texas in October, 2019, to begin her ministry at ACC. Previously, Danielle pastored a congregation along the Texas Gulf Coast. Following Hurricane Harvey in 2017, her congregation served as a mission station hosting volunteer groups coming to assist with the local disaster recovery efforts. She is an alumna of the University of Chicago Divinity School and the University of Lynchburg. Danielle and Sam have a toddler with whom they enjoy sharing their love of music and reading.
